ConnauTech Ltd recently successfully completed a key project entitled “A feasibility study of plasma treatments for advanced flexible materials” for regional AFM support organisation, NWtexnet which is part of the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA). The main purpose of the study was to examine the potential for using plasma technology for treating technical textiles as an alternative to conventional, wet treatments which are costly and environmentally unfriendly. Following some desk research, many interviews were performed involving Northwest AFM companies, providers of plasma technology/equipment and other technical support organisations. This included organisations from the UK, USA and throughout Europe – thereby exploiting ConnauTech’s global presence.
The results of the study were extremely positive and are expected to initiate revolutionary developments for the AFM market in the Northwest. These findings will be presented at a breakfast event at the Ramada Hotel in Blackrod (near Bolton) on 18 June and full details of that event are presented here.
